Roger Waters in New Jersey – Lossless Download

May 25, 2007
By

The Dark Side of the Moon Tour 2007 returned to the US last week, after 5 excellent concerts in the NY/NJ area in 2006. Musically, the concert is virtually identical to the 2006, but the stage show is significantly expanded and the band is naturally tighter and more cohesive after nearly a year of touring together.
The sound quality in the venue was superb, and my recording position was quite advantageous–right below the large left PA stack. The uni-directional DPA cardiod microphones were excellent for this situation, as the sound is quite upfront and clear and the persistent crowd chatter is diminished.

Unfortunately, due to a technical problem with my digital compact flash card, I was unable to record the last song of the Dark Side set, and did not record the encores. The first set is complete, and the sound quality is comparable to the Waters 2006 recording posted below.

This recording is no longer available at nyctaper. You can probably find it on several sites on the web.

I get a minute of silence at the end of track 05 Have a Cigar. Does anyone else get this?

Otherwise, one of the best recordings I have ever heard! Congratulations on such good work.

  8. May 25, 2007 at 7:01 pm

Well, I’m not sure why that’s happening, there is no silence on the recording. Try downloading it again, and make sure you use the md5 (verification file) to check if your download is complete. The md5 link is at the bottom of the main links.

    Thanks for sharing.

I’m still using DAT and want to switch to a more moder recorder that uses memory cards or a hard drive. I’ve heard a number of times about problems with memory cards failing to work. So I haven’t switched yet.

I had the opposite problem, my camera crapped pout during the 1st half of the show. I tried to download your file, no dice. Would you be willing to burn a copy, i’d be willing to pay.

I tried again and to no avail. I understand your position on sharing this media as a free enterprise, and I deperately would love to have a copy. Is there anyway I could get burned copy?

  26. June 1, 2007 at 10:43 am

What happens when you click on a song title? It should pop up a window asking if you want to download it. There is really nothing more direct than a DIRECT download.
If you still can’t download from clicking on a song title, then perhaps 1 of the 500 or so people who downloaded this recording from this site will be kind enough to send you CDs or fill CD blanks.

Once right clicked the file does download however, windows media player nor any other player will not recognise the FLAC.file. That’s the problem. I guess the 500 others who have been able to download your work have FLAC capability. thanks anyway.

  33. June 13, 2007 at 10:43 am

You have flac capability, because all the flac links you’ll ever need are on this site!
